Gadget experts are expecting price cuts on iPods — tomorrow the Xbox 360 prices cuts go into effect — and cheaper HDTVs are expected to help ease our digital TV transition in Feb. 09. But the key to any of these new adoptions is the right price point.
Extending that, cheaper solar panels let more home/business owners install systems to slow dependance on the power grids — better, cheaper “clean coal” plants help the enviroment and reduce oil need — and cheaper hybrid autos and mass transit means better adoption.
The key is cheaper technology. Want to solve energy policy? You’ll need the cheaper, better technology. Want to help people get better health care? Cheaper, better technology. The simple fact is that both parties can agree that America needs to continue producing better and cheaper technology to keep up with the demands of the future.
So it’s important to remember that while costs are rising at the gas pump, at the doctor’s office, and lots of other locations…better, cheaper technology is nearly always the go to solution…until you’re replaced by a robot.
