Heroes – 2.01

Ooooh, boy, Heroes is back!!!

We’ll be blogging after every episode with thoughts and such….leave us comments in the field below!

First off, I’m glad the Petrellis aren’t dead. I’m a Nathan fan and I’m glad he didn’t burn into a crisp! Plus, having Peter hundreds of miles away and an amnesiac just plain works as a great storytelling device. Getting back his memories is just one of the elements he’ll have to deal with, because he may not even be aware of what abilities he has!

Secondly, the Bennetts story is great. How do you go back to normal after you’ve been so extraordinary? I think Claire and Noah’s struggles are going to be extremely interesting to watch in the future…and that flying kid will only add to Claire’s story.

I like Hiro in Japan, but I know that’ll sidetrack him for half the season. He really is too powerful to keep in the present where he could jump back and forth in time to fix major plot points — like his dad’s death, for instance. I’m glad they’ll be able to justify having Hiro there by having him help Kensei, but I worry it’s just going to take too long. We’ll have to wait and see…

Parkman and Molly have a good storyline, too, and I’m glad to see that they stuck together. But, seriously, they’re living in Mohinder’s apartment that used to be Mohinder’s dad’s apartment? Come on, folks, there’s too many bad memories for a little girl with ghoulish nightmares to be staying at.

Mohinder is finally useful, in my opinion, as a double agent for Bennett. I’m glad to see that relationship built upon, especially after re-watching the last season’s final episodes. Plus, it just makes sense for the Company to want him, with his father’s legacy and his own interaction with the other heroes.
